2013 EvaDress Pattern Contest

The 2013 EvaDress Pattern Contest will commence at 11:59 p.m. EST on January 31, 2013.

There is one category for which entrants may sew and each entrant is welcome to submit as many projects as desired. Each entry will be judged according to quality of construction (as best I can tell online!) and creativity.

~Any men’s or women’s garment (not accessory) from your favorite EvaDress pattern. When you forward your submission, tell us why this is your favorite pattern, what you like most about it. You are not required to use all elements from the style you sew from the pattern as it was originally issued, although it must contain at least 70% of the original pieces for any one style you are sewing from the pattern.

No purchase necessary to enter (If you have an EvaDress pattern in your stash and not yet put it to use, here’s your chance).

Five FINALISTS will be voted by all participating EvaDress customers, fellow entrants and members (followers) of the EvaDress blog. I will vote one winner from these five selected finalists.

A $25 gift certificate from Fabric.com will be e-mailed to the winner. Also, a $100 EvaDress patterns certificate plus free shipping (international included) will be awarded. The EvaDress certificate is redeemable for up to one year from March 15, 2013 (the contest ending date). Separate conditions will apply for the Fabric.com certificate as outlined on that certificate.

Projects are to be started no sooner than 11:59 EST on January 31, 2013. The contest will close for submissions at 11:59p.m. EST on March 15, 2013. Voting will take place on March 17, 2013 and announced no later than March 18, 2013.

One is permitted to submit a project if the muslin was started before the contest begin date, but the final fabric project is to be executed within the published contest timeframe. Patterns may have been graded or altered for proper fit before the contest start date as well.

To enter, e-mail photos with a description of each project. Each submission must include at least one front view or the front view shot at an angle to show a side view as well, a back or side back view. Detail shots are required (i.e., show us that lapped diagonal seam, picoted hem, etc. up close). Additional shots may be submitted depending on what you feel should be highlighted of each project. Submit good quality, flattering images at 72dpi no smaller than 11”h by 8-1/2”w. I will e-mail a confirmation of receipt of your submission within 24 hours. If you do not receive a confirmation from me, please follow-up by phone (posted in contact info from my site) or by alternate e-mail at: theevadress(AT)yahoo.com to ensure that your submission was received.

I will post submissions on my Wordpress blog for the voting process at http://evadress.wordpress.com/

Only one vote cast per person will be counted toward final results via Poll Daddy.

The contest winner will be notified via e-mail, posted on WordPress, Blogspot and EvaDress FaceBook wall.

Feel free to e-mail me with questions. Questions may also be posted on my Facebook (I am EvaDress) wall or posted by commenting on this blog post. I will answer your questions by e-mail and may additionally publicize them on Facebook and the blog post.

NOTE: By entering this contest you agree that your submission photos/descriptions may be used in the gallery on the EvaDress web site as promotional material for EvaDress.

An individual asked if submitting just one long skirt pattern is acceptable for this contest.
I answered that it is preferable to see an entire outfit, ensemble, full dress, etc to be in equal contention with other submissions of those kinds.
Per the contest guidelines, I describe 'garment' as an entry, so a single long skirt will be considered as long as it is noted in the submission that other pieces which may appear in the photo with the skirt not be judged as well.
In all fairness, ALL entries (whether single garments or ensembles, etc.) will be weighed equally for workmanship and creativity.
